About the Job
As a Software Engineer, Test Automation, you will make an impact by designing and implementing robust automation frameworks that ensure high-quality software delivery. You will be a valued member of the PaletteAI team and work collaboratively with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to drive excellence in testing.
What You’ll be Doing
Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.
Troubleshoot and debug issues in Linux-based environments, working to identify root causes and ensure platform stability.
Work with cloud technologies, containers, and Kubernetes to test and validate platform behavior in real-world scenarios.
Build test frameworks and testing infrastructure that validate platform functionality across different environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand enterprise tech stacks and develop automation solutions.
Design, develop, and implement automation frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
Analyze and troubleshoot test failures, identify root causes, and provide solutions.
Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality and testability.
Continuously improve and optimize test automation processes and tools.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience in test automation development; preferably using Playwright and TypeScript.
Proficiency in shell scripting and at least one general purpose programming language (e.g. Go, Python, Typescript, etc.)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Demonstrated experience writing automated tests for APIs and/or UI applications.
Comfortable working in Linux-based operating systems.
Familiarity with cloud technologies, containers, and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub Actions, Circle CI, Jenkins, etc.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
This is a remote-first position open to candidates residing in Canada and the United States. OTE range (base salary + variable compensation): $139K-167K CAD, DOE

Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to cloud-based environments and containerization tools.
Knowledge of performance testing or security testing frameworks.
Contributions to open-source automation projects.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
