At Spectro Cloud, we are in search of a talented individual to become an integral part of our DevOps team, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of our cutting-edge Palette platform.

Sr. Software Engineer (DevOps) at Spectro Cloud are software engineers assuming the responsibility for all operational aspects of Spectro Cloud runtime, including automation for self-service provisioning and configuring environments, Containers, Logging, Monitoring, Alerting, and thrives in a highly collaborative, cross functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi and related virtualization infrastructure.

• Knowledge in managing network routers, switches, etc.

• Apply DevOps and SRE methodologies to improve system reliability, scalability, monitoring, and incident response.

• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.

• Administer and optimize Linux systems for performance, security, and availability.

• Deploy, operate, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters (on-premises and cloud-managed).

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.

• Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (Elastic Cloud, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).

• Collaborate with developers, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless application deployment and system reliability.

• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents and drive root cause analysis.

• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and capacity management.

You will excel as a Sr. Software Engineer (DevOps) at Spectro Cloud if you thrive in ambiguity and can deliver value amidst unclear requirements. Success hinges upon your capacity to tackle intricate challenges through a series of incremental steps. It entails embracing test-and-learn methodologies. We highly value independence and self-motivation, both individual and team advancements frequently assume crucial roles within our dynamic work culture.

Qualifications

While we don't expect candidates to check every box, we do look for the following when assessing applicants:

• Expert level VMware knowledge

• Very good knowledge in Kubernetes

• Very good knowledge in various Linux distros
• Good knowledge in managing network devices (Router, Switches, Firewall, etc.)
• Prior experience with hybrid infrastructure (VMware + Kubernetes + Cloud).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar field
• Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
• Experience with Terraform or IaC based automation software languages
• Excellent understanding and experience in AWS, EKS, Helm, and GitHub Actions.

Our interview process for Engineering roles typically comprises three to four stages:

• Initial screening interview
• One or two technical interviews, including hands-on assessments
• Final round to assess team fit and engage in detailed discussion
  
  Majority of our interviews are conducted via Zoom. We recommend having a laptop with a reliable internet connection, and if possible, a functional camera for a more engaging experience.
