Who We Are

Established by a team of multi-cloud management experts and industry veterans with a track record of success, we're at the forefront of multi-cloud management solutions. Our collective focus is on delivering unmatched value that resonates with our customers, and you can take pride in being involved with it.
What’s The Job?
The Spectro Cloud Documentation & Education team is looking for an Education Engineer to join our experienced team of technical writers and education engineers. We are looking for someone with a strong technical background to contribute to our documentation and provide the best user experience with Palette, our Kubernetes management platform.
As an Education Engineer, you will create world-class tutorials, guides, and reference material for our practitioners and customers to gain experience with our products, but more importantly, to help them gain a deeper understanding. The tutorials will contain hands-on labs that allow the reader to complete the tutorial at their own pace while gaining product knowledge. We aim to deliver quality learning experiences, so we expect the tutorial lab portion to simulate real-world application architecture incorporating our products. You will leverage modern software engineering tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, containers, cloud providers, programming languages, and more. We believe in team and individual ownership, so you will work alongside other team members to build expertise in a product area.
This is a full-time, remote-first position open to Canada and Europe.

We don’t expect the ideal candidate to check every box, but the items below are things we look for when reviewing candidates. Do not let this discourage you from applying.
You are a self-starter and thrive in environments where you are empowered and encouraged to solve problems

Comfortable with at least one programming language (Go, Rust, JavaScript, Python)
Comfortable working with infrastructure as code tooling - Terraform preferred.
2+ years of experience maintaining production applications
Experience in one of the following roles; sales engineer, software engineer, system administrator, software architect, platform engineer, or a DevOps-oriented role
Comfortable creating diagrams and visual resources to help the learning process
Displays a passion for learning and exploring new technologies
Authored technical blogs for technical publications (Medium, Hacker News, dev.to, etc.)
The Hiring Process
Your time is valuable, so we want to ensure we respect your time and the effort you put into the hiring process. The interview process is divided into four sections: a screening interview, a technical interview, writing and information architecture discussion, and culture and team fit interview.
Screening Interview - a 30-minute interview where we verify if we are a good fit for each other. We’ll be asking questions to learn more about your career experience and your technical educator skills.
Technical Interview - a 60-minute interview where we verify your technical teaching capability, understanding of composing, writing, and structuring information, and technical knowledge. We use a writing assignment to validate your teaching and writing capabilities. The writing assignment is not a pass or fail but instead utilized as an indicator to help us understand your current abilities.
Culture/Team Interview - a 45-minute interview. The questions here focus on your experience working in a team setting. Other questions check for organizational core values and culture fit.
